Winter Yoga Camps

Aerial Yoga Camp will introduce your child to the basics of Aerial Yoga, starting with proper hammock folding techniques and an understanding of how to safely pose in the hammock. They will learn multiple poses as well as simple flows in the hammock. Sessions will also include music, aerial yoga games, group & team building activities, arts & crafts, and healthy snacks. We will also spend time doing yoga outside.

Your child must be in at least 1st grade to enroll.

You may receive a refund for camps canceled within two weeks prior to the start date with a $50 cancellation fee. For those with emergencies or extenuating circumstances, please contact us immediately so we can work with you on your options.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • We will be providing a healthy NUT-FREE snack (e.g. fruit or veggie, nut-free cracker, cheese sticks) for our Snack Break around 11:00. This is just a snack, not a meal. If you feel that your child has specific likes or is used to having more of a meal/lunch at this time, please feel free to pack a NUT-FREE lunch or additional snacks for them.
  • Please send your child with a WATER BOTTLE every day or leave it in their cubby. It is important for them to stay hydrated throughout the morning.
  • Your child is welcome to bring their own yoga mat or use one of ours.

WHAT TO WEAR:

-PLEASE, NO JEWELRY! Stud earrings are okay. Please remove all jewelry prior to practicing yoga as it can snag or rip our fabric hammocks.

-Come dressed in comfortable clothing free of snaps, zips or exposed buckles that could snag the hammock fabric. We will practice yoga barefoot so all shoes will be dropped at the door!

-WEAR LEGGINGS OR PANTS!!!!! It is highly recommended that kids wear leggings or pants to protect their skin as they move in the yoga fabric. When they do poses in the fabric with short shorts or leotards, it can feel very uncomfortable and limit participation. Loose and comfortable cotton pants, yoga pants or regular old leggings are perfect!

-Boys and girls with hair below the shoulders need to pull hair back for practice!

STUDIO ETIQUETTE:

  • I ask that everyone remove socks and shoes before entering the yoga room.
  • Please encourage and remind your children to speak in calm, low volume voices when in the reception area or the studio.
  • No food or snacks inside the yoga room.
  • Please turn all cell phones off or on silent in the studio. We can hear loud phone ringtones from the studio!

Students waiting for classes may do so in the reception area. The instructor will call students into class.
Shoes and other personal items may be placed in cubbies in the reception area.

Summer Camp Q&A’s

DROP OFF/PICK UP

  • Our doors will open at 8:55am. PLEASE NO EARLY DROP OFF as we will be busy setting up for an incredible camp experience!
  • Please remember to sign your child in at the desk.
  • Pick up is at 12:00pm. We ask that you please come in and sign your child out. A written note is required if someone else will be picking up your child from camp.
  • You must be present with your child until the start of camp (9:00am for day camps/ 1:30 afternoon aerial camps)
  • We give you a 5 minute grace period for pick-up. After that, you will be charged $1 per minute.

Morning drop-off is at 9am. The studio is open for both free play and table/craft activities until about 9:45am. This is followed by a 30-45 minute themed yoga class with games, music and lots of movement! At about 10:30 we get ready to head to the park for a family style picnic and play! Outside time at the park includes free play, outdoor yoga & games, water balloons and water play, just to name a few things…We head back to the studio around 11:30 and create a craft or read a book. With 10 minutes to go, we cool down in Svasana before pick up at 12pm!

A Born Yoga Lead Teacher is always present at camp as well as 2 or more additional staff members.

We go to Kenning Park which is located on Lincoln, East of Eton Street, behind the Birmingham Racquet Club (it is about 2.5 blocks from the studio). We walk together on a rope with handles for each child. There is always an adult at the front of the rope, at the back of the rope and on the side of the rope.

It is your responsibility to PRE-APPLY SUNSCREEN BEFORE CAMP each day.

Refund Policy:

  • All camps are non refundable.
  • If a student does not show up to camp without letting the studio know ahead of time of their absence, they lose payment entirely.
  • A transfer may be granted if cancelation is 2 weeks prior to camp and may be used for the same child towards another camp of equal or lesser value.
  • For last minute cancellations, a 50% refund may be granted ONLY if the spot is filled.
  • If there is an emergency, please call or email us immediately so we can work with you to find the best solution.
